The Second Episode of MSBA’s Insightful Voices Podcast Featuring Erek Barron is Available Now!

The MSBA is happy to announce the second episode of its Insightful Voices podcast. The podcast covers numerous issues that impact the legal profession, addresses current events, offers a retrospective of the last 125 years of the MSBA, and delivers conversations with thought leaders around access to justice and our future.

In the second episode, Erek Barron, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, talks to M. Natalie McSherry, current MSBA President and Principal at Kramon & Graham, about his current role and his journey from private practice to public service.

Barron served as the Secretary of the MSBA in the 2020-2021 Bar Year and was the President-Elect for the 2021-22 Bar Year before President Biden nominated him to serve as the 49th U.S.Attorney for the District of Maryland. He is Maryland’s first Black U.S. Attorney. Barron was previously a partner at Whiteford, Taylor, Preston, LLP, where he focused his practice on business litigation and crisis management.  He also served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Prince George’s County, and held leadership roles in multiple civic and charitable organizations, including the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau, the Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center, and the Prince George’s County Coalition of Adoption Programs, Inc.

During his discussion with McSherry, Barron shared his thoughts on the rule of law, the Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative, and his belief that mentorship, connectivity, and involvement with professional organizations are key components of career growth and personal development.
