If you have questions about your civil legal problem or the recent court closures or need legal help, there are many civil legal aid organizations that can still assist you remotely. Civil legal aid organizations offer free legal services to those who qualify and can help with the following:
FREE BRIEF ADVICE & REFERRAL
Self-help centers offer FREE legal help in civil cases for ANY individuals who do not have a lawyer. Due to COVID-19, all self-help centers that are located inside Maryland courthouses are temporarily closed. However, the state-wide self-help center, called the Maryland Court Self-Help Center continues to operate and is providing civil legal help on the phone or by live chat.
