Maryland Attorney General’s COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force wants to know about your experience in MD’s state and federal courts
MSBA-supported Maryland Access to Justice Commission is in a high-level partnership with the Maryland Attorney General on the COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force. The Task Force is actively working to identify and address barriers to justice either created or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with a special eye to addressing the civil legal needs of low-income and vulnerable Marylanders. To inform its work, the Task Force’s Data & Legal Technology Committee is conducting a survey to capture the experience of attorneys who have an active case and have engaged with the courts in some manner – either in-person or remotely; for a hearing or simply to file a pleading – from September 1 to September 30, 2020.
With so much in flux, we need the help of MSBA members to understand how court operations, safety protocols and technology issues are playing out in different parts of the state. The data collected from the survey will be aggregated, may be included in the final Task Force report and will inform the Committee’s recommendations. The survey should take only 5 – 15 minutes depending on your level of engagement with the courts (federal or state). Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/1FaceDEJVkUKrm188. It will be open until 11:59pm on Friday, October 16. For any questions or issues with the survey, please email Dr. Carolyn Lichtenstein at: carolyn.lichtenstein@gmail.com.
