Powered By
The Maryland Access to Justice Commission (A2JC) is an independent entity powered by the MSBA. Your membership in the MSBA makes A2JC’s work possible. MSBA fulfills its own mission and strategic vision to advance access to justice in Maryland by supporting A2JC.
Public Interest Law Committee
The Public Interest Law Committee (formerly Delivery of Legal Services Committee) is now aligned with the Maryland Access to Justice Commission within the MSBA. The A2JC’s Public Interest Law Committee (PIL) is excited to build a robust public interest and justice oriented community within the MSBA. Whether working in private practice, judiciary, government or a civil legal aid organization, the Committee welcomes MSBA members who are passionate about public interest law and an accessible, equitable and just legal system. The Committee will work on telling powerful stories, putting on thought-provoking programming and advocating for justice and fairness. Your MSBA membership enables you to join the Public Interest Law Committee for free.
The PIL Committee is co-chaired by Meredith Girard from Shore Legal Access and Zafar Shah from Maryland Legal Aid.
